1. Objectifs du cours

The investment decision course aims to provide students with the main methods of analyzing investment projects (for instance IRR or NAV approaches). At the end of the semester, students must also be able to understand the link between the investment decision and the financial statements published by companies (Cash flow statements).

2. Description du cours

The course is structured around 12 hours of lectures and practical exercises to be carried out by the students.
The course also includes 12 hours of tutorial.

• o Measuring risks and returns
• - Part 2: estimating the cost of capital
• o Capm
• o Cost of capital
• - Part 3: Investment criteria
• o Principles for investment decision
• o Relevant cash-flows
• o Choice criteria: payback period, Net present value, Internal rate of return
• - Part 4: Risks and investment analysis
