1. Objectifs du cours

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
? Understand the main ethical theories and how they apply to business contexts.
? Identify ethical dilemmas in management, marketing, finance, HR and international business.
? Analyse business decisions using structured ethical reasoning.
? Recognise the role of RSE, sustainability & stakeholder management in modern organisations.
? Evaluate how cultural differences shape ethical expectations in global markets.
? Develop responsible, well-argued solutions to real business cases.
? Communicate ethical reasoning clearly in oral and written formats.

2. Description du cours

Business Ethics introduces Y3 students to the history of Business Ethincs and the fundamental ethical principles that shape responsible decision-making in organisations. The course explores how firms interact with society, the environment, stakeholders (employees, consumers) & global markets. Through real-world cases, debates, short readings & groupe activities, students learn to identify ethical dilemmas, analyse them critically and propose responsible solutions. The international track places special emphasis on cross-cultural ethical expectations, global governance, & of course international business responsibility.

  • 1.Introduction to Business Ethics. Why ethics matters in business. Ethics vs. Compliance. International perspectives
  • 2. Ethical Theories & Frameworks over time : Utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics. How managers use ethical frameworks.
  • 3. Stakeholder Theory & Corporate Responsibility. Freeman's stakeholder model. RSE vs. ESG. Case studies.
  • 4. Ethics in Globalisation. Cultural differences in ethical expectations. Global governance (UN Global Compact, OECD guidelines).
  • 5. Ethics in Marketing & Consumer Relations. Manipulation, transparency, vulnerable consumers
  • Greenwashing.
  • 6. Ethics in HR & Workplace Practices. Diversity, inclusion, discrimination. Working conditions, gig economy.
  • 7. Ethics in Finance & Corporate Governance. Insider trading, transparency, risk... Ethical investment
  • 8. Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility. Climate ethics. Circular economy. Case Studies.
  • 9. Technology, Data & AI Ethics. Privacy, surveillance, algorithmic bias
  • Responsible innovation.
  • 10. Final Discussions & Case Study Presentations. Group presentations. Ethical decision-making simulation
